The Lake Tillery Mahjong Loft is a small studio for American Mahjong lovers — beginners welcome, seasoned players cherished. We host weekly games, friendly lessons, and themed afternoons overlooking the water.

Big news from the loft: We are poised to add a brand new player to the family! This soon to be grandma is ready to call Mahjong on the best hand of her life. To soak up every moment, beginner classes and guided play will be on break for November and December. We will be back full swing in January.

Open Play
Open Play nights at Lake Tillery Mahjong Loft are your chance to drop in, draw your tiles, and enjoy a few hours of relaxed social play in a welcoming, no-pressure environment.
Beginner Classes
Never played? Our 2.5 hour beginner class takes you from complete newcomer to playing your first real hand in a single afternoon — with hands-on instruction, all tiles and equipment provided, snacks, and a student packet you'll take home.
Guided Play
Ready to practice what you have learned in a relaxed, no-pressure setting? Join us for Guided Play at Lake Tillery Mahjong Loft — a two-hour session where your instructor sits right at the table with you, helping you read the NMJL card, spot winning opportunities, and build the confidence to play on your own.
Rent the Loft
Gather your favorite people for a private Mahjong party at the loft. It's perfect for birthdays, girls night, bridal or baby showers, book clubs, and team outings. New to the game? We can teach your group the basics, so everyone is playing by the end of the night! Seasoned players can simply enjoy the tables, tiles, and relaxed lakeside setting that is all yours! Mahjong is played 4 to a table, so we need enrollments in multiples of 4 (minimum of 8) to run a class. We appreciate your flexibility — if your class doesn't quite fill to a complete table count, we will reach out to reschedule.
